Unfortunately, the friendly match against Exeter Nomads, planned for tomorrow night, has been postponed until a date in the near future.

The usual roll-up will, of course, still take place, tomorrow night, as usual.

Christow v Exeter Nomads - Friendly (12/10/22)

 Teams for the friendly against Exeter Nomads on Wednesday are as follows:

No Bowls between October 15th and October 22nd

Regrettably (and annoyingly) the hall will not be available between October 15th and October 22nd.

Due to the above, bowls has been cancelled on the following days:

• Sunday October 16th
• Wednesday October 19th
• Friday October 21st

Bowls will be back on Sunday October 22nd; just in time for a practice session before the Teignbridge league commences!

Friday Morning Bowls (Oct 7th 2022)

 The Friday session for October 7th has, unfortunately, been cancelled.

Congratulations to Steve and Marcus for retaining their Margaret Elliot pairs trophy, by beating Lee and Alan Woodacre (Goodleigh SMBC) in the final at Isca on Saturday.

Christow SMBC members Ava, Trevor, and Ian travelled to Dorset yesterday as part of the Devon A team. It was a day of mixed emotions!

At half-time the overall scores were:

Friday 23rd - Bowls Cancelled

Due to the lack of potential attendees the bowls session for tomorrow morning has, unfortunately, been cancelled. 

Queen Elizabeth II - Bowls This Sunday (Sept 11th)

We are sure that everybody connected with Christow Short Mat Bowls Club is deeply saddened at the news of the death of the Queen.

The club's committee has decided to go ahead with the bowls night tomorrow, though as a mark of respect we will be holding a minute's silence at 7pm.

We hope you can attend and look forward to seeing you, as always.

Good luck to the Christow bowlers who are taking part in the Fours at Isca on Saturday, and the Devon Team event on Sunday.

Friday Morning Bowls - Change of Start Time

Commencing next Friday (September 16th), the Friday morning sessions will now start at 11am and finish at 1pm.

Sunday Bowls Returns

Don't forget that we return to Sunday evening bowls from this Sunday (Sept 4th)

Usual start at 7pm, so please ensure you arrive by 6:50pm

Friday Morning Bowls Sessions

The Bowls Club will be running 8 additional trial sessions on Friday mornings at 10:30 starting on 9th September and running through to 28th October. These extra sessions are being put on to see if it attracts new members, but all existing members are, of course, very welcome to attend. We would very much like to see as many of you there as are able to attend.

The usual £3 fee will apply, though the first session for new bowlers will be free.

Working Party

We will be holding a Working Party on Friday September 1st from 9am until 12pm.

The aim of the Working Party is to maintain and improve the condition of our short-mat equipment.

Despite the session being run on a Friday morning, all club members are welcome to come along and get their hands dirty!
