Short Mat Bowls Returns to Christow
Good Evening. Hope you are all well and keeping safe.
Here is the news that you have all been waiting for. After many months of missing your favourite sport we are now in a position to announce that Short Mat Bowls will again be able to be played albeit with some changes.
So dust off your bowls, retrieve your cloth from the dog, as their favourite new toy and stop using your measure for those DIY jobs.
The hall will be open from Wednesday 5th August, based on current Government advice, for those evening roll-ups.
The changes to keep us all safe will be that only four people will be allowed on each mat, with four mats in play equally spaced.
Hands to be sanitised through washing or hand sanitiser before and after each match.
Face coverings or masks will need to be worn please.
We will not be using the kitchen so please bring your own drinks.
For more information please see Government advice on return to recreational sport at

The results for the Teignbridge league have now been received.
The results maybe final as all remaining games have been cancelled so the results stand as they are. There will be no champion club this year so we will all look forward to a new season when we are told we can start bowling again.
I would like to thank everyone for their commitment for the season and hope they all stay safe during this terrible virus.
Regards
Jim

COVID-19: ESMBA Statement
ENGLISH SHORT MAT BOWLING ASSOCIATION
Issued at 09:35 on
Friday 13th March 2020
Dear County
Secretaries
Based on UK
Government policy and NHS guidance the ESMBA Management Committee has decided
to postpone all forthcoming events until further notice starting with the ICC
semi finals on 14/15 March.
The ESMBA Management Committee has also taken into account the
ageing player population and that the events will be held indoors in a close
defined area. The current thinking is to re-arrange the diary for September
2020 and play the ICC and National Championships in the first two weeks of
September.
The ESMBA Management Committee is also advising County
Associations to postpone events where numbers exceed 100 attendees.
