INDOOR SPORTS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

 The A.G.M. takes place at the Community Hall on Wednesday 18th May. All are welcome. If anyone has any ideas how to reinvigorate the sports that are played ,please come along and share them.

Christow Invite 2022

On Sunday 24th April Christow held their Inaugural Invite competition.

The competition involved teams from Abbotskerswell, Totnes, Nomads and Christow.

Four teams of triples from each club, split into four groups, played each other in a round robin format. The top two teams from each group going through to the cup competition, the remaining teams going through to the plate competition.

After all the initial games had been played Christow found themselves with two teams through to the cup. Unfortunately only The Roosters made it through to the semi-final, The Wolf Pack losing by one point to The Milky Bar Kids.

The final of the Cup competition was fought by The Arabs and The Camels, The Arabs coming out on top. 

The Plate competition was won by The Gold Tops with a victory over The Young Ones by one shot.

Final points total:

Exeter Nomads - 176

Totnes Creameries - 138 

Abbotskerswell - 135

Christow - 133

Thank you to everyone who supported the raffle. £175 will be donated to the Devon Air Ambulance.

ANNOUNCEMENT.

 No Bowls Easter Sunday. Back in harness again Wednesday 20th April.

Don't forget the epic battles to come on Sunday 24th April.

England U21 win England Vs Wales 2022 International in Wales

Ava and Sean travelled to Wales over the weekend to take part in the England Under 21 vs Wales Under 21 International.

The competition consisted of 6 rounds with each player involved in 5 matches, a mixture of pairs, triples and fours.

England won the first two rounds. The third round resulted in a draw.

After Lunch Wales fought back winning the next round.

In the final round Wales were winning on all mats apart from one. Winning on that Mat would have resulted in a draw where shot difference would have been examined.

England won their match on the last mat 10 -5 to win the competition.

Final score:

England 44 points, Wales 36 points.  (England 357 shots. Wales 311 shots)

REPORT ON NOMADS FRIENDLY.

 Before I comment on the epic battle against Nomads we are grateful to Richard for bringing his own lunch otherwise I do not think the 32 muffins Marcus bought to celebrate his 55th birthday would have been sufficient.

The highlight of the evening for me though was Pam's cheer as she nailed the jack with her first bowl in 2 years. Welcome back Pam. 

Welcome back to all the friends we have not seen, for what seems like an eternity.
