Planned Equipment Inspection

Steve has organised an equipment inspection morning this Thursday at 09:30.

We have managed to acquire some fairly new mats, and sundry items, and the plan for this Thursday is to have a proper look at the equipment.

The hall has been booked for an hour, which should be more than enough time.

Please feel free to attend, as the more hands the merrier!!

Devon A and Devon Premier Triumph over Cornwall

Devon took on Cornwall at ISCA on Sunday in the latest ICC fixture.

The Devon A team, with Christow's Ava and Ian in the line-up won 27-13, while the premier team won 22-18.

Christow v Bishopsteignton - CANCELLED

Please note that due to a number of players from both teams feeling unwell the opening Teignbridge Leage match against Bishopsteignton, planned for this Wednesday Oct 26th, has been cancelled.

It is not known at this point if the fixture is to be rearranged.

The normal club night will still go ahead.

Christow v Exeter Nomads Friendly - POSTPONED!!!!!

Unfortunately, the friendly match against Exeter Nomads, planned for tomorrow night, has been postponed until a date in the near future.

The usual roll-up will, of course, still take place, tomorrow night, as usual.

Christow v Exeter Nomads - Friendly (12/10/22)

 Teams for the friendly against Exeter Nomads on Wednesday are as follows:

No Bowls between October 15th and October 22nd

Regrettably (and annoyingly) the hall will not be available between October 15th and October 22nd.

Due to the above, bowls has been cancelled on the following days:

• Sunday October 16th
• Wednesday October 19th
• Friday October 21st

Bowls will be back on Sunday October 22nd; just in time for a practice session before the Teignbridge league commences!

Friday Morning Bowls (Oct 7th 2022)

 The Friday session for October 7th has, unfortunately, been cancelled.

Steve and Marcus Win Margaret Elliot Pairs 2022

Congratulations to Steve and Marcus for retaining their Margaret Elliot pairs trophy, by beating Lee and Alan Woodacre (Goodleigh SMBC) in the final at Isca on Saturday.

Christow SMBC members Ava, Trevor, and Ian travelled to Dorset yesterday as part of the Devon A team. It was a day of mixed emotions!

At half-time the overall scores were:

Friday 23rd - Bowls Cancelled

Due to the lack of potential attendees the bowls session for tomorrow morning has, unfortunately, been cancelled. 

Queen Elizabeth II - Bowls This Sunday (Sept 11th)

We are sure that everybody connected with Christow Short Mat Bowls Club is deeply saddened at the news of the death of the Queen.

The club's committee has decided to go ahead with the bowls night tomorrow, though as a mark of respect we will be holding a minute's silence at 7pm.

We hope you can attend and look forward to seeing you, as always.
