Broadclyst Fours Tournament Report

On Saturday 6th May a Team from Christow comprising of Steve, Chloe, Ralph and Ava participated in the Broadclyst Fours. Despite being in a difficult group, we came out on top in our first 3 games. The 3 games were closely fought and other teams were taking note that Christow were title contenders. Broadclyst were our final adversaries in the group and after a nip and tuck first 7 ends we went into the last end with a 2 shot lead. We were on the back foot throughout the final end and eventually went down by 5 shots. As at Willand there was disappointment at failing at the last hurdle, but everyone should be proud of their performance and knowing that they contributed towards the £600 raised for the British Heart Foundation......Red Rooster.

Willand Triples Competition Report

On Saturday 29th April, Steve, Chloe and Brad participated in a tournament at Willand with 15 other teams. We were in a very strong group and after winning our first 3 games things looked promising. We came up against an experienced Hemyock team in our final game and could not get to grips with the very sticky mat we were playing on. So we were very comprehensively shown a clean pair of heels. Our disappointment at finishing 5th in the tournament was soon forgotten when Brad found his cigarettes, Steve won a bottle of wine and Chloe was given an Easter egg. Great day was had by all.......Red Rooster.
