There will be a club singles competition for the 2019/2020 season which, if proven successful, will hopefully
carry on for the foreseeable future. The start date will be the Sunday following the 16th October cut-off.
The competition will be based on a round-robin format, so every player entered will play one ten-end game
against every other player (no home/away required).
The individual match results will be fed into a scoring
system producing a “league” table, giving an outright winner, once every match has been played.
Updated tables will be made available via the blog and also pinned to the club notice board during the
course of the competition.
Usual ESMBA rules apply except:
2 points or a win, 1 point for a draw
A Jack-off-the-mat scenario is “end played” 2 shots awarded to opponent
10 ends with no time limit
All 10 ends to be played
Marker to complete the scorecard which should be agreed by each player as being true and correct
Toss for jack
It will be up to the competitors to be proactive and arrange with each other which club nights to participate
in matches, and a full list of outstanding fixtures will be updated and made available. It may be an idea to
play in groups of 3, deciding on which mat to use, allowing each individual to play two games and mark
one.
Prepared scorecards will be available from Ian and/or will be kept in the cage.
There will be a main trophy plus trophies to keep for both the winner and runner-up!
If you want to take part in this singles competition, please add your FULL name to the table on the noticeboard by no later than Wednesday 16th October.

County/National Draw Details
The Devon Competition draw will take place at ISCA after the County squad day on the 11th August at 4:30pm. Preliminary rounds are needed in the Singles, Pairs and Triples due to the amount of entries. Players will be randomly drawn into the morning and afternoon session. A draw will then take place at the start of play to determine groups. There is no need for a preliminary round in the Fours. On the 11th September there will also be a draw for the County team championship.
Due to the draw being done before start of play it is imperative that players turn up to events promptly at the designated time (9am for morning sessions and 1:15pm for afternoon sessions) so that we can start promptly.
