Last Bowling Sunday Summer 2021
Now the weather is improving its time to spend Sunday outside doing all those activities instead of short mat bowls like eating ice cream. With this in mind the last Sunday for bowls this Summer will be 11th July.
Bowling will then be scheduled every Wednesday only until the 25th August. After which we will be back to bowling twice a week again.
Have a great Summer. No more than two ice creams at a time.
Stay safe.

Short Mat Bowls - Update
Tuesday, 14 July 2020
Short Mat Bowls Returns to Christow
Here is the news that you have all been waiting for. After many months of missing your favourite sport we are now in a position to announce that Short Mat Bowls will again be able to be played albeit with some changes.
So dust off your bowls, retrieve your cloth from the dog, as their favourite new toy and stop using your measure for those DIY jobs.
The hall will be open from Wednesday 5th August, based on current Government advice, for those evening roll-ups.
The changes to keep us all safe will be that only four people will be allowed on each mat, with four mats in play equally spaced.
Hands to be sanitised through washing or hand sanitiser before and after each match.
Face coverings or masks will need to be worn please.
We will not be using the kitchen so please bring your own drinks.
For more information please see Government advice on return to recreational sport at
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-on-phased-return-of-sport-and-recreation/return-to-recreational-team-sport-framework

Looking forward very much to seeing you soon.
Note for your diary: Sunday evening roll-ups to begin again on 6th September.

Teignbridge League - Final Results
The results maybe final as all remaining games have been cancelled so the results stand as they are. There will be no champion club this year so we will all look forward to a new season when we are told we can start bowling again.
I would like to thank everyone for their commitment for the season and hope they all stay safe during this terrible virus.
Regards
Jim

(Very) Short Mat Bowls - Exeter vs Plymouth - 2020
This is the ongoing match between Exeter (Ava) and Plymouth (Marcus).
Exeter are playing with the purple woods and Plymouth with the black ones.
The jack is of a silver colour.
Each day, depending on availability of the players, a match is played with the winner being the first team to collect 5 shots.
Today saw a very close match with Exeter winning by a narrow margin of 5 shots to 4.
Please see some pictures from the match below.
Good Luck to Plymouth for tomorrow's encounter.
(For information the mat is constructed of astro turf and measures 11ft x 6 ft. Very short mat bowls does not use a block. Each player has two woods.)
Please continue to take care and stay safe.
