Devon County A Team Match Report against Buckinghamshire

This weekend an unchanged team from last week travelled back to Daventry Indoor Bowls Club for the quarter finals of the ICC competition. With the confidence they gained from the previous weeks win at Tamworth against Surrey and the win against Somerset in the final of the ICC Rinks at Daventry two week ago, the team were going to be hard to beat. Support amongst the team for fellow players was very evident during the four sessions which started as usual with the singles and pairs. One win in the singles and 2 wins in the pairs got the team off to a good start. In the triples and fours that followed there was a draw and loss in the triples and win and loss in the fours. With no break the singles and pairs were back on the mats and continued where they had left off and produced the same result as in the first session. The triples and pairs were not going to be out done and dominated the final session with wins on all mats. The final shots score was Devon 216 and Buckinghamshire 156 and Devons wining points score was 31 - 9. The Devon team will be travelling back to Daventry for the semi finals where they are due to meet Essex who also won there semi finals encounter at Daventry today.
