I hope you’ll be pleased to hear that some of the Teign Valley
Commmunity Hall committee members have formed a working group to explore
options for a refurbishment and update of the hall.
As you may know, the Hall was built in 1998, funded mainly by
Sports Lottery money. It used by a wide range of groups from all over
the Valley and beyond for all kinds of meetings, classes, events and
private functions. It is a fantastic, well-used facility which has been
run and maintained by the Hall Committee for the last 20 years. But there
is now scope to make improvements and updates to the building that go
beyond the routine repairs and which will make it more efficient and
environmentally-friendly to run, and better equipped and more
comfortable for its users. This will be costly, so we will be applying for external funding again to pay for the project.
We are seeking expert advice on the technical aspects, but before we design the project and apply for funding, we
are consulting the Teign Valley community and other hall users to
gather ideas on what people would like to see by way of refurbishment
and upgrades to the building. We want as wide a range of views as
possible, representing the full range of residents, whatever their age,
needs, interests, or time living in the area, in order to make sure that
we have a facility which will continue to be used by the whole
community for the next 20 years.
Complete the short survey at: tinyurl.com/TVCH2018
(or try https://exeter.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/tvchconsultation if the short address doesn’t work for you).
The survey is open from 1st to 10th December and every survey completed by a Teign Valley resident will be entered for a £25 cash prize draw.
There will be an open meeting at 7.30, Tuesday 18th
December in the Bowden room when we’ll present and discuss the survey
results, invite further views from those present, and hold the draw for
the £25 cash prize. Please come along if you can.
Thank you in advance for your support.
