Key Points from AGM....Please Read

Christow Indoor Sports Club & Bowls Club held their AGM last night, which was followed by a buffet to celebrate our wining of the Teignbridge League this year. Attendance was good, it was nice to see four members of the Badminton club represented as well.
Below are some key points from the meeting, some requiring further action!

• New Treasurer - Steve has taken on the role as Treasurer after Mary's resignation.
  
  
• New Secretary - No Secretary was elected last night to replace Neil who is taking a break from bowls. Trevor offered and was elected to register the players for next season, which will give players the opportunity to play in County and other competitions.
  
  
• Teignbridge League Captain - Brad was elected with Jim as Vice Captain. Both will work closely together next season.
  
  
• Club Night Selector - Jim has taken on this role for next season.
  
  
• Club Competitions Secretary - Ian was elected to this position.
  
  
• TVCH Appointee - Rob Hill from the Badminton club was elected to fill this role.
  
  
• Refurbished Jacks - Six refurbished jacks will be purchased from Ottery St Mary at a cost of £30 each.
  
  
• County/National Entries - Trevor initially offered to collate all the entries for next seasons County/National competitions. On reflection it was one job to many with his other commitments to Devon County. All players wishing to play in next seasons completions, please arrange your teams and download any forms you require from the Devon Website or by clicking here. Also entry into the County Championships (Tens) will need to be completed on behalf of the club.
  
  
• BLOG - No one came forward to take on the job of keeping the Blog up to date. So far this has been done by the Secretary. Marcus was suggested and is to be approached on the matter.
  
  
• Date of next AGM - The date for the next AGM is Wednesday 13th May 2020.

Devon County Meeting News

The new Devon County committee met on 30th April. The two Summer completions were announced and if successful could see more introduced the following year. Also changes are being discussed to the County Championships or Tens competition. More details can be found on the Devon Couny Website or by clicking here.

July 20th 2019

Another competition has been added by the County for this Summer. It will also be taking place at ISCA on Saturday 20th July. Entry Fee £15.
There will be a Main and Plate with winners and runners up Trophies. Food will be available to buy on the day . Maximum entries 32 teams.
Closing date 6th July 2019 or until full.
I will leave some entry forms for this and the Ladies Pairs at the club on Wednesday evening.

Devon County/National Rules Updated

The Devon County/National rules have been updated ffor 2019/20. I have included them on the Devon County Competitions page.

Exeter League AGM Report

The AGM for the Exeter League was held last night at St Thomas Cricket Club in Exeter. The attendance was very poor, with only 11 people in total representing 4 Clubs. The clubs were Chistow, Exeter Nomads, Silverton and Wonford. The meeting got underway at 8.00pm and was Chaired by Richard Ivings (Nomads), Rob Gayton was also present in his dual role as Secretary and Treasurer. Silverton A were congratulated for wining Division 1 along with Wonford A for there success in the Knockout Cup. The fees for next season will remains the same at £10.00 per team and £2.00 per registered player. The Knockout Cup will also stay at £2.50 per team. Wonford were requested to supply a Chairman for next season, Christow also need to fill the role of Vice Chairman. Wonford will notify Rob in due course, this will follow a meeting in June over the future of  the clubs current venue. After the meeting finished the trophies and prize money was presented by Richard to Division 1 Winners Silverton A and runners up Wonford A. Knockout Cup winners Wonford A and runners up Christow B.

Devon Ladies Pairs

A new pairs competition for ladies had been introduced by the County. It will take place at ISCA on Saturday 13th July 2019. Closing date for enteries is 30th June. I will have some entery forms with me at the AGM next Wednesday.

No Bowls Sunday 12th May

Club night on Sunday 12th May at Christow has been cancelled. This is due to a significant amount of players having other commitments.

Dates for Next Season Added to Blog

Next seasons Competition dates have been published. The Devon County Competitions page has been update and is now showing all the County/National match dates for 2019/20. The calender also now shows these dates plus County ICC, SMPT, ESMBA and England completion dates and venues where known.

Exeter League Meeting Reminder

The Exeter League AGM will be taking place on Thursday 9th May at St Thomas Cricket Club. The meeting is scheduled to start at 8.00pm. All players are welcome.

New Secretary Also Required for Next Season

It is well known that a replacement Treasurer is needed for the Club. They will be replacing Mary after nearly 10 years of faultless service. Neil has also decided to step down after 7 years. He will also be packing away his bowls for next season to pursue other interests. If you are interested in taking on either of these rewarding roles, please enter your name on the Election for Officers form at the club.
